Service for Generator

Power optimal selection will enable you to make the best use of you generator, and this document will help you to:

• Use a small and cheap generator that can also meet your requirement.
• Use the generator more efficiently.

Power optimal selection is based on a simple concept that simultaneously using all the electric households is not necessary. When using one electric device, turning off another electric device will help reduce the power needed.

The following questions are needed to be considered:

• Which electric appliances are the most important?
• Does the electric appliance continue to work?
• Do not start all the electric appliances simultaneously.

For example, you want to use a generator to supply power to your household appliances, such as some bulbs, a fridge, a water pump, a TV and a microwave oven.

If you think you need a generator with the power of 5000 W just seen from the above table that the total power needed is 5000W, it is wrong.

Start the electric appliances that need big power in different period of time.

In this case, if you start fridge and water pump in different periods of time, you just need 1600 W instead of 1900W.

• If the electric appliance(such as microwave oven) is used for short term, separately use it in that period of time.

Then if you stop fridge and water pump when you use microwave oven, you can save 1500W.

Let us have a look at the following example:

In this case, a generator with 3000 W is enough for all the appliances.

Service for Engine

Check engine oil and oil level everyday before operation

1. When checking engine oil, the machine shall be stopped and be placed on a horizontal plane.

2. Loosen engine oil dipstick and wipe it clean.

3. Insert engine oil dipstick into oil filler opening, but do not tighten it up.

Check whether the oil level is between the upper scale and lower scale. If the engine oil level is too low, engine oil shall be filled to required oil level.

4. Re-insert the oil dipstick and tighten it.

Replacement of engine oil

To reach the desired effect, engine oil of your small engine shall be replaced after 25 hours or after one month after its first use, and it shall be replaced every 50 hours or every 3 months afterwards.

1.Preheat the engine for 2-3 minutes and stop the engine.

Warning: ensure that the sparking plug wire has been disconnected and keep it far away from sparking plug to prevent accidental starting. Clean around the oil filler opening and oil drain cock and prevent dirt and scrap to fall into crankcase (as shown on the right diagram).

2. Place a can for oil under the engine.

3. Loosen and remove oil drain bolt and drain the engine oil.

4. Pull the starter by hand for several times to help drain all the residual oil.

5. Put back the oil drain bolt and tighten it.

Inspection and maintenance of the air filter

If the filter element of the air filter is too dirty, air intake will be seriously affected and the power of the engine will be decreased and engine performance will be reduced.

Dismantle air filter housing to check the air filter, clean or replace dirty or damaged air filter element. If there is oil-bath air filter, check the oil level.

Please clean air filter every 50 hours and replace the foam and paper filter element on the air filter every 100 hours or every 6 months.

1. Cleaning paper filter element

Please slightly tap the filter element on hard plane for several times to remove dust accumulated on it, and then blow from inside to outside with compressed air whose pressure is no more than 207KPa. Please replace the filter element in time if the filter element is too dirty or broken.

2. Cleaning foam filter

The foam filter can be rinsed in hot water with detergent or can also be cleaned in non-inflammable or high-flash-point solvent; after it is dried, immerse it into clean engine oil, knead evenly and squeeze out engine oil in excess.

  •

3. Cleaning the oil-bath air filter

Please replace the engine oil in time if it is too dirty. Evacuate the engine oil in the air filter; thoroughly clean the accumulated dust in the air filter with non-inflammable or high-flash-point solvent, dry the air filter box and pour into the same lubricating oil as gasoline engine until it reaches the oil level mark.

Inspection and replacement of sparking plugs

Inspection and replacement of sparking plugs Please replace sparking plugs every 300 hours or every one year. Replacing sparking plugs has the following advantages: Ensuing continuous sparks more reliable to start more fuel-efficient It is crucial

1. Remove sparking plug cap and get rid of the sundries around it.

2. Remove sparking plug with equipped sparking plug carriage wrench

3. Clear the carbons fouled sparking plug with gablock and clear the sundries on the sparking plug with brush.

4. Check whether the sparking plug electrode is ablated. If it is ablated, the sparking plug shall be replaced.

5. Check the clearance of sparking plug by feeler gauge and adjust the clearance of sparking plug to 0.7-0.8mm.

6. Check the sealing gasket on sparking plug, If it is seriously distorted or broken, it shall be replaced.

7. Check sparks: manually start engine and check the color of sparks. The sparks shall be blue and white.

8. When tightening the spark plug, tighten the sparking plug into place by hand and then tighten up it by sparking plug carriage wrench.

Cleaning the fuel filter system

Please replace fuel filter in the oil groove every 100 hours or every 6 months.

1. Turn off the fuel cock and remove sedimentation cup and O-ring gasket.

2. Clean sedimentation cup and O-ring gasket with non-inflammable solvent.

3. Put back sedimentation cup and O-ring gasket.

4. Turn on fuel tap to check whether there is oil leakage.  If there is oil leakage, replace O-ring gasket.

5. Clean fuel filter and filter screen to remove filth on the filter screen and check whether the filter screen is broken. If the filter screen is broken, it shall be replaced in time.

Adjustment of valve clearance

Note: Unless the user has special maintenance tool and maintenance skills, the adjustment of valve clearance shall be maintained with the assistance of Loncin authorized distributors.

The size of valve clearance has great impact on the performances of engine on all aspects: If the valve clearance is too small, the expanding of valve rod in thermal state of the engine may lead to valve leakage and power coastdown or even burn out the valve; If the valve clearance is too big, there might be collisions between different transmission parts as well as between the valve and the valve seat, and meanwhile, the valve opening duration will be reduced and cause insufficiency of air intake and exhaust and will also directly affect the normal operation of engine.

General speaking, valve clearance of gasoline engine must be checked and adjusted after it is used for 1 year or 300 hours. The valve clearance must be adjusted in cold state and when the valve is totally closed. Place the piston on the dead point of the cylinder combustion chamber, and the positive related position between flywheel magnetic steel and flame igniter is positive point. Insert the feeler in the clearance between the valve rocker and the valve and measure the clearance of the lifter.

Valve clearance: intake valve: 0.10 ~0.15 mm

                           Exhaust valve: 0.15 ~0.20 mm

3. Insert engine oil dipstick into oil filler opening, but do not tighten it up.
